Dear friends, Well, we are finally here! Yes, this letter comes \r\nto you from across the sea, as we arrived back in England on May 12. What have \r\nthese last few weeks entailed? Well, here\'s a thumbnail sketch:
Cleaning and moving into a house our colleagues had rented for \r\nus, getting our belongings delivered from the storage company, visiting our \r\nformer church in Quedgeley, trying to remember how to drive on the opposite side \r\nof the road and shifting gears with your left hand, learning our way around new \r\ncities and a new village, learning the names of new people at the church, \r\nmeeting new neighbors, struggling to push grocery carts with wheels that are not \r\nsynchronized, drinking tea again, having our car repaired and maintained after \r\nbeing immobile for a year, getting together with our field council for our \r\nquarterly meeting, registering with the local doctor\'s office and obtaining a \r\nmedical card for Benjamin, house searching for a possible house to buy instead \r\nof renting (this would give us a bit more stability), waiting for 3 weeks to be \r\nhooked up to e-mail/internet.
So, you can see we have been busy! But we rejoice in what the \r\nLord has already done in the restoration work at Great Whyte Baptist Church \r\n(named after the Great Whyte River). This is the fourth church restoration \r\nproject for ABWE U.K. Great Whyte Baptist Church is in the village of Ramsey, \r\nwhich, along with surrounding \"suburb\" villages, totals about 9000-10000 people. \r\nThe church has the capacity to seat 150-200 people, but, following some \r\ndifficulty with a former pastor, had only a few members left. Consequently, they \r\nhave asked for help from ABWE. The Woodard/Konuch team has come in the hopes of \r\nrebuilding and revitalizing the work here. The people in the church are hard \r\nworking and have a real passion for the lost! The church is in an ideal \r\nsituation on one of the main streets in the village, and has good facilities. We \r\nhave already had several visitors coming, have been able to distribute 5000-6000 \r\nleaflets in homes in Ramsey and surrounding areas \"advertising\" the church, have \r\nenjoyed the results of physical renovation on the church and landscape, and are \r\nrejoicing that our mom/toddler outreach group on Wednesday mornings is full, \r\nwith others from the community mentioning they would like to come when there\'s \r\nan opening! God is working in the hearts of people in Ramsey. Please pray for \r\nus, and the Woodards, as we strategize for the days and months ahead in the \r\nministry at Great Whyte Baptist.
Would you specifically pray for a young 14 year old boy who \r\nlives a few houses down from us? He is very curious about these Americans, and \r\nhas taken a real interest particularly in Tim. Tim met him one day as he was \r\nwalking to prayer meeting. Allister was full of questions about what we were \r\ndoing here, and he ended up following Tim on his bicycle to see where the church \r\nis located. Tim plays tennis or does some activity with him about once a week in \r\nhopes that he will have the opportunity to tell him about Christ. Allister\'s \r\nfather died about 6 years ago, and Tim is hoping to be able to have a real \r\nimpact in his life.
Becki has met a young American lady whose husband is with the \r\nU.S. Navy and is stationed on one of the nearby RAF bases. She has been in \r\nEngland for about 2 months, and has a 4 year old son and an almost 2 year old \r\nson. She has come twice to our mother/toddler time and, although Catholic, seems \r\nopen to our friendship. She has agreed to come to one of our planned outreach \r\nactivities, so please pray for Linda and her family as well.
Well, this has been a long letter, we realize, but we wanted you \r\nto know where we are and what we are up to. We certainly appreciate all your \r\nprayers and notes, all the help from our home church in our preparation to move \r\nback to England, and the encouraging letters we have received since arriving \r\nhere. You have all been a blessing to us, and are a big part in our ministry \r\nhere! For those of you who don\'t have our new address yet, here are all the \r\ndetails:
