Konuch Kronicle Nov 2004
Dear praying friends,

Greetings once again from England.  Please forgive us for the delay in communication!  We have been busier than usual with the start of homeschooling (for the first time!) and have also had some difficulty with our computer lately.  But we hope this will update you so you can see how the Lord has been answering your prayers for the Konuchs.

The Past... Thank you for praying for our outreach programs this past summer!  The Hawaiian Luau was a great success, with over 100 people attending (many of whom were unbelievers).  We had a really good   time and the Gospel was clearly presented, both by the testimony of one of our members, as well as the devotional given after the festivities.  Our new American friends, Linda and John came with their 2 boys, and Tim's young neighbor friend, Allister, also came along.  We are thankful for each opportunity they have to hear God's Word!  Please continue to pray for their salvation.

We also had a Men's Curry Night, held at a local Indian restaurant (which, funny as it may seem, is a very popular cuisine in England).  This was geared as an evangelistic opportunity for the men of the church to invite their unsaved "mates" to a non-threatening function.  Tim was able to invite our neighbor, Peter, who seemed to enjoy himself, and asked Tim several questions about our church on the ride home.  The guest speaker, a British evangelist, was very effective in communicating Christ's forgiveness.  Please pray for more opportunities to witness to Peter and his wife Caroline.

Recently, we held a Halloween alternative evening for the children of the church and their friends.  This was a "fair" type event held in our fellowship hall, with game stalls, costumes, and, of course, lots of sweets!  The theme was "Super Heroes" and was followed by a Family Evening Service in the church.  Tim continued the Super Heroes theme but focused on Bible heroes (and even had "interviews" with 3 of them) and how to be a hero in God's eyes.  Several unsaved fathers/husbands of our church members attended, and once again the plan of salvation was clearly presented.  Please be in prayer for these unsaved family members.

On a personal note, we had the opportunity to open our home to 4 of our neighbors for an informal games and pizza night.  We had a great time of laughing, enjoying ourselves and getting to know each other better.  We are so thankful for the opportunity to show our new friends that Christians can have fun without all the trappings of the world!  Please continue to pray for these contacts with Steve & Paulette, Peter & Caroline, Bob & Joan, and Allison.

The Present...Currently, we are looking forward to our first baptism at Great Whyte Baptist Church.  Helen is a lovely lady in her late 40's who recently came to know the Lord through the testimony of her daughter Emily, a member of Great Whyte.  She has shown great growth in her short life as a Christian and has invited many friends to her baptism, including her unsaved husband, Derrek, and her two unsaved sons.  Also to be baptised is a high school lad, Owen, who has known the Lord for about a year or so now.  He has shown great courage in taking this step of obedience, as he is the only believer in his family.  We are excited that his parents are planning to attend, and hope his testimony will speak volumes to them.

Of course, we are also getting ready for all the Christmas festivites.  We are planning several things, including a Victorian candlelight carol service, a service on Christmas morning, and singing for the ceremony to turn on the village Christmas lights (a big event in Ramsey every year, we're told!).  As you know, many hearts are softened toward the Lord during this season, so please be in prayer for our ministries during this special month of the year.

Becki continues to hold a bi-monthly Ladies' Bible Study in our home, studying the book of Philippians.  It has been a delight, not only to delve into God's Word together, but to get to know the ladies better, and build bonds of unity among sisters in Christ.  On average, there are between 4-8 ladies attending.  Please pray for her as she leads this study, and for a true love to grow between these women.

The Future...We are rejoicing in the preparation of two more candidates for baptism in the near future.  Katie is a young teenager who came to know the Lord at camp this summer.  She is currently being discipled by Emily, Helen's daughter, and is eager to learn.  Although she is a shy person, she has already brought several friends to church with her!  Alex, a 6 year old friend of Jonathan's at Great Whyte Baptist, also recently trusted the Lord as his Savior.  He is eager to be baptised, so is currently being discipled by Becki.  He is a joy to work with, and has been taught well by his mother and Sunday School teachers!  His father, Nigel, is not a believer, but Alex has been quite a testimony to him!  Please pray for these 2 young converts in their growth and testimony!

While sharing in the preaching and pastoring responsibilities at Great Whyte, Tim is also chairing the ABWE Church Planting Committee.  Part of his responsibility is to survey potential areas for new church plants.  Currently, we are still researching the possibility of a second new church plant in the city of Milton Keynes.  Please continue to pray for wisdom as we seek God's direction as a field council.

No prayer letter would be complete without an update on the family, so here it is!  Jonathan has started kindergarten (homeschooled) this fall and is catching on well, especially to reading.  He is an eager student, and can hardly wait for Benjamin's naptime so he can get started!  Benjamin is a social 15 month old, and keeps us all laughing with his antics.  He is walking, and into everything, as most baby boys are!  Both boys have adjusted well, and seem to like their new home.

Well, this has been very long we know, but we wanted to update you on all the blessings of the Lord, especially before we get caught up in the busyness of the holiday season.  Allow us to take this time to wish you all a very special, Christ centered Christmas, and a new year full of His rich blessings!  You are one of the blessings we mention when we are counting ours!  We so treasure your prayers and support, and know that we cannot do this without your part!  Thank you much for your faithfulness on our behalf!
